Altered journal for my sister

 Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely christmas! This is an altered journal I made for my sister Aghna for christmas. It is packed full of Tim Holtz goodies. I'm not putting up pics of every page because there was lots of pages in this one!

Enjoy,
This is the original journal book with chipboard covers & pages
I used distress crackle paint along the binding side of the book, a Tim Holtz tag & for the title I used Tim Holtz lettering masks

Inside front cover- Attached to the back of the tag chain from the front cover I used a graphic 45 envelope just for my note to Aghna
For each alternating page throughout the book I used a mini Tim Holtz page-on this particular one I added crackle accents to one of the tags just to add interest
I also used some prima flowers throughout which I glimmermisted in black chaclkboard
On each of the original pages of the book I stamped an image from the Tim Holtz mini muse collection
I also added in a pocket page covered with Tim Holtz papers
This pull out mat & mini journal are from inside the envelope
 Back of the envelope
Another larger envelope page I added into the book
Pullout from the larger envelope with journalling paper & another prima flower
Tim Holtz adage ticket & Prima!!
Inside back cover

Back cover with my stamp,
Thanks for visiting- leave a comment!!

Marion Smiths Birdhouse challenge

Heres pictures of my entry to Marion Smiths birdhouse challenge, you may have seen other peoples videos of their entries on youtube-they are gorgeous!

The challenge was to download the birdhouse template on Marions website http://www.apieceofcraft.com/ and to make up a birdhouse ornament/ gift box.

Like many people I have seen, this is also my first challenge & when I saw so many people saying it was so quick & fun, I knew I wanted to have a go too.

Because I'm not set up on youtube yet my entry is these photographs,

Let me know what you think,

Aideen X
so for my birdhouse I made it a giftbox in the style of a cuckoo clock, I havent seen one like this so I hope you like it
I used Tim Holtz music sheet paper from the lost & found collection to make the house and my clock is one of his timepieces, |I also distressed all the edges lightly with walnut distress ink
I added a jump ring with some chains hanging out out of the bottom of the house for the cuckoo clock effect :)
My roof is made of little rectangles that I cut out of some black textured core'dinations card and I also added a Tim Holtz adage ticket of the word soar to go with the bird theme. I used cotton string for my closure & also as my hanger for the ornament. The roof is also coated with black diamond stickles but I'm not sure if you can make that out in this picture.

My little bird rub-on is from the Basic Grey curio collction
Maybe this will show up the roof detail better??
Now for my little surprise-the Timepiece at the front of the clock is attached to a little mini album inside the birdhouse!!! I really liked how this turned out
This is a close up of the front of the box without the mini inside-I use a piece of prima crystals and pearls that I cut to fit around the opening for the clock & a beautiful prima rose that was cream but I glimmermisted it with my black chalkboard to match better with my papers
This is my little mini from inside the box, even with the mini inside there is stilll plenty of room for a little gift to go in behind it-I used my cotton string to bind the book & I used chipboard as a base for each page
Again I used the Tim Holtz paper-just leftover pieces from the birdhouse, I used basic grey journalling paper from their basics range on the back of all the pages too & distressed the edges with walnut ink. These pages will fit passport sized pictures!
close up of the papers used, this little mini is so cute & so quick to make because its tiny
So, there you go, thats my cuckoo clock birdhouse gift box & mini, I hope you enjoyed looking at it & I hope Marion likes it too!

My moms crochet Angel she made for me!

Here are two pics of a crochet angel my mom made for my house-its so pretty I just wanted to share it on my blog,

Thanks for looking

Graphic 45 Steampunk mini for Rhonda

Ok heres ANOTHER mini & I made this mini using Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante papers! My sister in law Sarah asked me to make an album for her boyfriends sister, Rhonda, for her birthday :)

I have to say I love the graphic 45 papers for making minis I find them so nice to work with & I had lots of fun making this album!

Let me know what you think,
Aideen X

So heres the cover & I titled the book timeless using grungeboard letters painted with crackle distress paint, I also used a lovely prima flower & a Tim Holtz timepiece metal embellishment
I didnt put any hands on the clock just to reflect the timeless theme
Forevermore muse token & a gear piece from Tim Holtz-I love Tim Holtz products too, I think I use something of Tims on every project :)
The first page is simple with a material journalling spot & room for a big photo
This page has two photo/journalling mats & Tim Holtz metal embelllies again
Under the mats is the lovely print from the paper pad-so hard to cover the beautiful arwork on these graphic 45 papers-thats why making mats is great
Again a pull out mat & a little bag I had that I popped a few tags from the collection into-this went really well with the papers & I loved how it turned out

I LOVED making this page-using the corset print paper I had to make a corset page with a pull out! I made the corset with eyelets & ribbon & I added lace to the matching knickers

 Three tags
Again behing the tags you see the lovely print of the lady with the gears hair-such funky prints

Room for another big photo here on this butterfly print page
With of course a Tim Holtz pin
Another steampunk debutante with a pull out behind her
I matted this ladies picture onto this page & the other little lady tag has journalling space on the back
 Last page with two tags
With the tags removed you can see the vintage corset ads which can be read, I added black bling here too as you can see along one of the branches.
 Back cover
Then I got this Papermania alterable box which I painted & inked to match the album-it has a cool acetate window where you can see my covergirl nicely through!
I stamped it also with a Tim Holtz stamp from the mini muse collection & black archival ink. My mini fits perfectly inside, I loved this project & I hope you like it too!
