So, here is another challenge entry!
This was the first month that I got a chance to do all the challenges I wanted to do! This challenge was set over on carznscrapdz.com by Alicia and your entry had to be vintage and has to include feathers, distressing and tearing! So I made this altered vintage Easter box and mini for my entry:
The papers I used are from the Tim Holtz seasonal stash and are full of vintage images of Easter/spring themes including lots of rabbits and chicks!
All the papers on the box are torn and distressed using walnut distress ink
I first painted the box duck egg blue and then added a layer of crackle medium and then the linen top coat which has cracked to reveal the blue undercoat-I also distressed the whole box with walnut ink!
I added images to every side of the box!
On the top of the lid I added more of the torn & distressed design paper and also some matching blue bling my feathers which are actually blue tipped so match perfectly :) a blue prima flower and a white alterable flower which again I distressed to make them more vintage looking!
Inside the box then is a tiny mini full of vintage Easter pictures! I used the mini kraft envelopes I got in the RAK from Pam-thanks Pam!!
I left the inside of the box the blue colour just distressed the edges again
This is the cover-I just added some more of the blue blings and binded it with cotton string-each envelope has a picture insert and they are pulled out again with cotton string!
These are pics of the pages of the book
The back cover of the mini
I staggered the cotton pulls of the picture inserts just to make the book more even
The fronts of the pullouts-all vintage Easter pictures from the collection
The backs of the pullouts!

My challenge entry-card!
My friend Niamh is having a facebook craft challenge where the theme is Springtime and also the bythecuteandgirly blog is having the same themed challenge so I made this card for both! I used soft pastel spring colours and just lightly distressed everything with teadye ink!
I added lace across the centre also coloured with the ink and I added two matching primas lightly distressed with flatback pearl heart centres and I also added a chipboard butterfly which I left natureal just lightly distressed to match!
Up in the top corner is a rolled down section just showing a little piece of the same lace
The birthday wishes banner is a die cut I had in my stash, these colours are all nice any spring-y I think!
Thanks for looking,
Aideen X

Altered frame and canvas swap over on the beach!
Hey all!
Here are some pics of the frame I made for my swap partner Kristen and the canvas I made for Nancy for the canvas and frame swap hosted by Alex over on the scrapbeach!
The theme for the swap was vintage spring and the canvas was to include the saying "April showers bring May flowers". So first up is my canvas, which I found a challenge as it was my first ever-
I painted the canvas a rose pink colour and attached graphic 45 once upon a springtime paper which I tore around the edges and painted them with my metallic gold paint dabber!
I used pieces of lace and both fabric and paper flowers-I curled the top corner of the paper here to reveal the lacey underneath!
I also used some gold making memories butterflies that are 3D and a postcard from the paper collection
A large gold butterfly and I included the saying in gold glittery letter stickers
More layered flowers and another piece of that teal lace I got from Judy! The paper centre flower is by Prima :)
The flower centres and the butterfly trails are little gold glittery dew drops
I thought this paper was perfect for the theme April showers as the postmarks are April in the design! This was a fun challenge and I enjoyed it-I left room for Nancy to add a photo!
Next is my altered frame for Kristen, I LOVED this challenge! The frame was a plain kraft brown frame-very plain and boring :) so I took the whole thing apart covered it with the papers I had picked and then hot glued the frame back together again!
Kristen is getting married in a few weeks and her colour scheme is pinks and greens so that's what I chose for her frame thinking it would be nice for a bridal photo!
All of the flowers are Prima and I love this "sugar" dipped rose-its so pretty! There are a few mulberry paper roses that I added anywhere there was little spaces between my primas :)
This is a K & Co. chip board butterfly that I had and it just happened to match m,y colours perfectly so I just had to add it on
I used flatback pearl hearts for my flower centres and also I have two maya road triple pearl stick pins in amongst the flowers
For my K I first painted it green then added a layer of crackle medium and then I painted it pink so that the pink would crack and the green could be seen- I added the flatback pearl heart to finish it off!
Kristen told me that the frame is the perfect colours for her wedding so I was so happy with it!
